No windscreen Kevins or Sharons or Dancing Handbags!! EPIC….
One of my fave venues ever, so many happy memories
Ah yes. Remember it well. Slippery People. Tom Tom Club, erm… ok, well maybe not that well
I think I’m almost certain to have played something by Trouble Funk, plenty of James Brown, and the likes of Stevie Wonder “Superstition”, Stretch “Why Did You Do It” etc (basically all the stuff I still occasionally play out nearly 30 years later!!). Sam Butera’s “Bim Bam” would have been in there too. I also shamefully recall playing Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer” and Mel & Kim “Respectable”. I fondly remember the night some greasy-haired biker came up to the DJ box and said “Scuse me mate, have you got anything else apart from this disco rubbish? How about some Grateful Dead?” Speechless.
Road block….
And “Roadblock” by Stop Aching and Waterme (thanks Clare)
DJ Fast Eddie came over to play once..
Yes that was probably the best night of the later aciiiiiieeeeeeed house days. And he was a very nice guy.
the first two tunes me and eugene played were “lets stick together” bryan ferry. and then blondies “heart of glass”. lovely. XX
Ive still got my signed Fast Eddie album!!
Spoonie Gee The Godfather, and then I put a pint of beer in the mixer and that was it..
Two for one drinks! Try getting that anywhere now!
After looking at the date i think my club membership has expired…
Maceo macks across the tracks :)))
Thats the one….epic grasshopper track! Love it.
remembers Sam Moffett 20 min mixes of can you feel it……
I also remember cramming as many people in my mini as humanly possible to get there. Who’s that in the boot? Why, it’s Derek Bennett!
Gwen McRae – all this love that I’m giving
Do u remember the Vivienne Westwood platform shoes loads if people used to wear?
