BRADLEYS was a small Spanish bar tucked away
around the back of Tottenham Court Road tube station,
in Hanway Street. Back in the 80’s & 90’s we used to go down
there a lot, especially before a night out at a club across the road in Soho.
In those days it wasn’t so easy to find decent music in pub’s an bars.
The overall quality of the jukebox in Bradleys, which they rotated
every so often, was a lot better than most places.
with a selection of decent tunes from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s & 80’s.
It was small, squashed & a bit tatty round’ the edges, but we loved it.
We always preferred downstairs, & if you got there early enough
in the evening you might even get a seat.
So here’s a snapshot or a little reminder of what it would’ve been like back in the day.
(Actually I re-visited recently & it’s still there, it’s still open & it hasn’t changed
that much either).
