Here’s some tunes blown out around Ladbroke Grove in the second half of the 1960s into the early ‘70s by folk rejecting the dominant cultural norms of the time. It was home to artists, activists, academics, bohemians, freaks and dealers who lived alongside Caribbean immigrants fighting for their rights. Films were made there like the Knack and Performance, which was filmed at 25 Powis Square. The Electric Cinema showed independent and Avant-garde films and Pink Floyd played at All Saints Church Hall. Hendrix sadly died too soon there, and Lemmy made his debut with Hawkwind at the Carnival.
